Running From The Mirror
We all know what a mirror is for. It’s used to reflect our outer appearance so that we can fix ourselves to be presentable, and make sure we don’t have crumbs or anything on our face when we eat a muffin. If mirrors are used for this purpose, and this purpose alone, then what do we use to check our inner appearance (our hearts)? How do we see our hearts and thoughts towards God, others, and ourselves? This reflector is alive and active, and it has the ability to correct us in the most truthful and loving way possible. The Bible says, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Friends, the Bible is the Living Word of God, the only perfect mirror that reveal the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Unlike the physical mirrors that people often use to tear themselves down, the Bible corrects us so that we can begin to see ourselves through God’s Eyes, and not our own. It reveals our hearts intentions so that we can begin to walk in all the purpose and calling that God has created us to be. It's time to rise Sis, it’s time to stop running from God’s Word, and start running towards it, because each time we allow God’s Word to correct us and refine us, we get closer and closer to being all that God has called us to be!
