Listen, I love you! - God
We all want to do our best, whether it’s emotionally, physically, or spiritually. I’ve learned that I am my absolute best when I am walking with Jesus and surrounded by His presence. When I walk with Jesus, I am whole. I am reminded daily that my Creator has a plan for me, and I have the opportunity to walk with Him each and everyday. Jesus satisfies my soul in a way that nobody else in the universe can and you know what’s even better?!?! Jesus loves spending time with us and seeing us live out His plan for our lives too! He loves developing a deep and personal relationship with all of us and He wants to speak to our hearts and remind us that we are His, all the time, no matter what. There is no mountain, valley, or dessert that he doesn’t want to lead you through, and there is no pasture, jungle, or beach He doesn’t want to chill out with you on! So often we spend our time looking for things to fill our hearts; friendships, relationships, instagram and so much more. Meanwhile, we have a loving Father who longs to spend time with us and get to know us. Our hearts were made by Love and the only thing that can truly satisfy our hearts is Love. The Bible says, “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Jesus died on the cross for our sins because He loves us and He never wants us to be separated from Him. He paid the ultimate sacrifice just to get to know us and love us. When I take time to think about this, it makes me think about all the times I have put other things or people before God. Pushing off spending time with God and neglecting to nurture your relationship with Him is like Jesus and you planning a hangout. On the day of the big hangout Jesus excitedly comes over and knocks on your door, only to find out that you planned a hangout with someone else and completely forgot about Him :( . I don’t know about you, but that makes me really sad. I would hate to reject the Creator of the World who fills and satisfies my soul, in order to do another activity that I’m searching for fulfillment in. God is my fulfillment, my Hope, my Salvation, and my everything. It took me a long time to realize this, and I really wish I would have learned this sooner. Looking back I am so grateful that God continued to pursue me, love me, and take care of me. He didn’t have to do it, but He did, because He loves us, all of us, no matter what!
