“All Stuff God Made Holds It’s Value!”
“All stuff God made holds it’s value…like land, diamonds etc…” When my mom said this yesterday, I stood in shock as I realized that she is so right! Land holds value throughout time, and so do diamonds and guess what, so do we. We were made by God and therefore we hold our value throughout time. Society tries to tell us that our value is based on good works, or how many likes or comments we get on social media, but that is all a lie. Our value is in the Hands of the One who created us, therefore making God the only one who can define who we are and what we are created to do. We must choose to remember where our value lies friends, despite the world screaming otherwise. We all remember when we were little and we asked our mom if we could participate in an activity or buy and item and she said, “no” and after hearing this we decided to ask, “why not” and she said, “Because I said so.” Yesterday, I started to ask myself this question. Since when did we begin to question God when He says, “Because I said so.” When we used to hold this same conversation with our parents, the very phrase “Because I said so” would shut the conversation down. I’ve found that when we ask God where our value is found, and He says, “Your value is found in Me and Me alone,” we find ourselves still asking questions, when the conversation should have been over. Saying “Because I said so” should be the mic drop full of grace and love overflowing. In the past, I’ve found that when I realized how truly unworthy I am to be graced by His presence in my life, and the very fact of being created by Him, that is when the doubt has tried to knock on my door, but you know what? Doubt must flee at the very presence of God’s Word, so when the Lord reminds me that “…the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23) I pause. Notice how Paul says “the gift of God.” When something is a gift, you may or may not have deserved it and it’s certainly not based on anything you can or can’t do. It’s simply there to remind you that you are loved, valued, and treasured. God predestined our value and our purpose, and there is nothing on earth or below that could ever change that. Accept His grace and mercy friends, His love runs after us every single day, and all we have to do is receive it!
