Happy New Year!
Sitting on the couch in my living room, I find this new year refreshing and exciting. Leaving the past in the past, and stepping into the new season God has given us is so important. We can’t allow the last seasons regrets, distractions and sins to make us feel that we aren’t meant to move on. Girl, you don’t know how many times I have missed out in the past, not because God said that it wasn’t for me, but because I had allowed my own guilt and shame to stop me from moving forward. It reminds me of a video my mom showed me of a dog that was being walked in the snow. Only problem was that the dog wasn’t walking, he was actually leaned back on all fours being dragged. My point of mentioning this dog video is to say that while the dog was refusing to walk in the snow, he was actually making more snow pile up on him, making him wet. Friends, when we refuse to step into the new season that God has called us too, we find that it only causes problems. What I had to realize is that, it is because of God’s Great Love, Sacrifice, and Forgiveness that I can have the confidence to forgive myself, and step into all that God has for my life. So always remember, if you ever find yourself feeling lost or alone, the Great Shepard always comes and brings His sheep back home, safe and sound. That is why I can sit on my couch, drink my hot cocoa (because let’s be honest the holidays don’t feel quite over yet) and rest in God’s Perfect Peace!
